Digital loyalty cards

Digital Loyalty Cards: Stamp and Scratch Cards for Businesses in the UK and Worldwide

Replace paper stamp cards with digital loyalty cards that live on your customer’s phone. Customers join by scanning a QR code, collect stamps on every visit and unlock rewards, while you finally see who your regulars are. We set them up for cafés, restaurants, salons, shops and other local businesses across the UK and worldwide.

What is a digital loyalty card?

A digital loyalty card is the phone version of a paper stamp card. Instead of a card that gets lost or forgotten, the customer’s stamps are stored digitally and shown on their phone. When they reach the target, for example their tenth coffee, they get the reward.

Because it is digital, you can also see how many people have joined, how often they come back and which rewards are claimed. That turns a simple card into useful information about your business.

What we set up

Our digital loyalty card services

Digital stamp cards

Customers collect a stamp each visit or purchase and unlock a reward at the number you choose, such as “buy nine, get the tenth free”.

Scratch-card rewards

A digital scratch card that reveals a reward, used to make joining or returning a little more fun.

QR code sign-up

Customers join by scanning a QR code at the counter, on the table or on their receipt. No paper cards to print or lose.

Staff stamping

A simple, secure way for staff to add stamps and redeem rewards at the till, designed to stop stamps being added without a purchase.

Member messages

Let members know about new rewards, birthdays and quiet-day offers, using consent and opt-outs that follow UK rules.

Reports

See sign-ups, repeat visits and rewards claimed, so you know whether your loyalty scheme is paying for itself.

Designing rewards

How to design a loyalty reward that works

  • Make the first reward reachable. A target customers can hit within a few weeks keeps them engaged. A target that takes a year is easy to forget.
  • Reward what you want more of. If quiet afternoons are the problem, give extra stamps at those times.
  • Keep the cost under control. Choose rewards with a low cost to you and a high value to the customer, such as a free drink or a free add-on.
  • Keep it simple. One clear rule is better than a points system staff have to explain.
  • Ask for permission to stay in touch. The card is the perfect moment to ask customers whether they would like to hear about offers.

UK rules

Loyalty schemes and UK rules to be aware of

  • Marketing messages need consent or the soft opt-in. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), you can usually only send marketing emails or texts to people who have agreed. There is a “soft opt-in” for existing customers who bought from you, if you only promote similar products and offered a clear opt-out when collecting their details and in every message. See the ICO guidance on electronic mail marketing.
  • Do not give stamps or rewards for reviews. Google does not allow businesses to offer discounts, free goods or other rewards in exchange for reviews. Keep your loyalty scheme and your review requests separate.
  • Scratch cards and prizes have rules. In the UK, a prize promotion that depends on chance generally must not require a payment to enter, though paying the normal price for a product does not usually count as payment. A guaranteed reward avoids the issue. We design scratch-card rewards with this in mind, and you should check the terms for any larger prize promotion.
  • Personal data must be handled properly. Members need a clear privacy notice, and you should only collect what the scheme needs.

If you trade in other countries, local rules differ, and we check them with you. This is general information, not legal advice.

Who it is for

Are digital loyalty cards right for your business?

Loyalty cards work best for businesses that customers visit often: coffee shops, cafés, restaurants, takeaways, bakeries, barbers, salons, car washes and independent shops.

  • You use paper stamp cards that get lost or copied
  • You do not know who your regular customers are
  • You want customers to visit a little more often
  • You have quiet days you would like to fill
  • You want a reward scheme staff find quick to use

We check sign-ups and redemptions and adjust rewards if the scheme is not working well enough.

FAQs

Digital loyalty card questions answered

Do customers need to download an app?

No. Customers join by scanning a QR code and the card opens on their phone, so there is no app to install.

How do staff add stamps?

Staff add stamps and redeem rewards at the till using a simple, secure step, so stamps cannot be added without a real visit or purchase. We show your team how it works before launch.

Can I offer scratch cards as well as stamps?

Yes. A digital scratch card can reveal a reward when someone joins or returns. We design these as guaranteed rewards or free-to-enter promotions to stay within UK prize promotion rules.

Can I send offers to loyalty members?

Yes, with the right permission. Members can opt in to hear about offers, and every message includes an easy way to opt out, in line with PECR.

Can I give stamps for Google reviews?

No. Google does not allow businesses to reward customers for reviews, so we keep your loyalty scheme and review requests separate.

How much does a digital loyalty card cost?

It depends on the number of locations, the features you need and whether you want member messaging. We give you a clear quote after a free consultation. See how we price projects.
