Google review cards

Google Review Cards: NFC and QR Tap Cards for Businesses in the UK and Worldwide

Make it easy for every customer to leave an honest Google review. A customer taps their phone on an NFC card or scans the QR code, and your Google review form opens straight away. We supply and set up review cards, stands and stickers for businesses across the UK and worldwide, along with a review process that follows Google’s rules.

What is a Google review card?

A Google review card is a small card, stand or sticker with an NFC chip and a QR code inside. Both open your business’s Google review form. Customers do not need to search for your business on Google Maps, scroll to the reviews and find the right button. That removes most of the effort that stops happy customers from leaving a review.

Reviews matter because people read them before choosing a local business, and Google says the number of reviews and their ratings are part of how prominent a business appears in local results. A steady flow of genuine reviews is one of the most useful things a local business can build.

What we provide

Our Google review card services

NFC tap cards

Card-sized review cards for staff to hand to customers or keep at the till. Customers tap the back of their phone on the card.

Counter and table stands

Stands for counters, reception desks and tables, with NFC and a QR code, so customers can leave a review while they wait.

Stickers and print

Stickers for windows, receipts and invoices, plus QR codes for printed materials and emails.

Branded design

Cards and stands designed in your brand colours, with clear wording that invites every customer to share their experience.

Responding to reviews

Advice and templates for replying to reviews, good and bad, so future customers see you listen.

How it works

NFC and QR: how the tap works

NFC (near field communication) is the same short-range technology used for contactless payments. When a customer holds their phone near the card, the phone reads a web link stored on the chip and offers to open it. iPhones from the iPhone XS onwards can read these tags without an app. On Android phones, NFC needs to be switched on, which it usually is by default.

The QR code on the same card is the backup. Any customer whose phone does not read NFC can scan the code with their camera instead.

Neither method needs an app, and the card has no battery, so it keeps working for years.

Rules

Asking for reviews the right way: Google's rules and UK law

Review cards are a tool for asking more customers, not for controlling what they say. Two sets of rules apply.

Google’s policies do not allow businesses to:

  • offer payment, discounts, free goods or services in exchange for a review, or for changing or removing one;
  • discourage or prevent negative reviews;
  • selectively ask only some customers, such as only the happy ones, for positive reviews.

UK law: since 6 April 2025, the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 bans fake reviews, including reviews written by staff posing as customers, and bans publishing reviews in a misleading way, such as hiding negative ones.

That is why our cards and wording invite every customer to share their honest experience. Breaking these rules can lead to reviews being removed, restrictions on your Google Business Profile and enforcement by the Competition and Markets Authority. See Google’s prohibited and restricted content policy. If you trade in other countries, local rules differ, and we check them with you. This is general information, not legal advice.

Who it is for

Are review cards right for your business?

Review cards suit any business where customers are in front of you at the end of a visit or job: restaurants, cafés, salons, clinics, gyms, shops, hotels and trades who finish a job on site.

  • Happy customers say they will leave a review but rarely do
  • You have fewer Google reviews than nearby competitors
  • Your most recent reviews are months old
  • You want staff to ask for reviews consistently
  • You want to do it in a way that follows Google’s rules

FAQs

Google review card questions answered

Do Google review cards work on all phones?

Most modern phones read NFC, including iPhones from the iPhone XS onwards and Android phones with NFC switched on. Every card also has a QR code, so customers can scan it with their camera instead.

Can I give customers a discount for leaving a review?

No. Google does not allow businesses to offer discounts, free items or other rewards in exchange for reviews. We design your cards and wording to stay within those rules.

Can I only ask happy customers for a review?

No. Google does not allow businesses to selectively ask satisfied customers for positive reviews. The safest approach is to invite every customer to share their honest experience.

Can the card be updated if my review link changes?

Yes, if you choose a card linked to a web address we manage. The link can be updated without replacing the cards.

How much do Google review cards cost?

It depends on how many cards, stands and stickers you need and how they are designed. We give you a clear quote after a free consultation. See how we price projects.
