A 148-page lead-generation website for a London roofer trading since 1982
How Gazelle Agency designed and built a fast, mobile-first website for Victoria Roofing Expert Ltd, with a dedicated page for every roofing job and every area, 61 expert guides, and a call, WhatsApp or quote button on every screen.

Built to look trusted, load fast and turn visitors into calls
URL counts: the site’s XML sitemaps, 20 October 2026. Speed: PageSpeed lab test of the homepage, 20 October 2026. Traffic: Ubersuggest estimate for Google UK, from our Victoria Roofing SEO case study.
Four decades of roofing, from a base on Camden High Street
Victoria Roofing Expert Ltd is a family-run roofing contractor based at 188 Camden High Street, London NW1. Since 1982 the same family has handled everything from slipped tiles and storm damage to full strip-and-renew roofs, flat roofs, chimneys, skylights and guttering for homeowners across North and Central London.
The team answers the phone 24 hours a day, gives free written fixed-price quotes, and backs every job with a workmanship guarantee. Homeowners rate the business 5.0 from 338 Google reviews.
A great reputation that the website wasn’t selling
Offline, Victoria Roofing had everything a homeowner looks for: 40 years of history, a real London address, round-the-clock cover and hundreds of five-star reviews. Online, very little of that reached the people searching for a roofer.
Too few pages
The site had no dedicated pages for most of the jobs and areas the business covers, so it could not show up for searches like “flat roof repair Hampstead”.
Trust hidden away
Forty years in business, 338 reviews and a guarantee are powerful selling points. They needed to be visible on the first screen of every page.
Urgent, mobile visitors
Many roofing enquiries are emergencies made on a phone: a leak at 2am or storm damage on a Sunday. Calling had to take one tap.
Room to grow
The business wanted to expand into outer London and Hertfordshire. The site needed templates that could scale to 100+ pages without losing quality.
Four goals for the new website
Look the part
A clean, confident design that matches a 40-year-old family firm, with reviews and guarantees front and centre.
Make contact effortless
Call, WhatsApp and free-quote buttons above the fold and at the end of every page.
Build a page system
Reusable templates for services, locations and guides, so new pages are consistent and quick to launch.
Be search-ready
Clean structure, structured data and fast loading, so Google and AI tools can understand the business.
A brand built on the logo: roofing blue and safety amber
We took the colours straight from the Victoria Roofing logo and turned them into a simple, consistent system used across all 148 URLs.
Typography
Inter bold for headings, for a modern and confident look. Roboto for body copy, for easy reading on any screen.
Rounded hero panels
A blue gradient hero card on every page carries the H1, the promise, two buttons and a strip of trust facts.
Amber for action
Amber is used only for the main call to action, “Get a Free Quote”, so the eye always knows where to go next.
Card-based layout
Services, reasons to choose and FAQs sit in light cards with clear headings, so long pages stay easy to scan.
Every section has one job: build trust or win the enquiry

10 service pages built to answer, reassure and convert
Each roofing job has its own page built from one shared template, so every page is detailed, consistent and quick to update. The Roof Repair in London page is a good example.

66 location pages that sound local, because they are
Every area Victoria Roofing covers has its own page with its own H1, its own copy and its own FAQs. The text is written around the real housing in each area, not just a swapped place name.
The Hampstead page, for example, talks about period properties, listed buildings and strict conservation rules, and explains the traditional methods used there: hand-cut slates, lime mortar, lead dressings and timber repairs.
- 13 North London areas: Camden, Camden Town, Kentish Town, Belsize Park, Highgate, Hampstead, Tufnell Park, Holloway, Islington, Archway, Kilburn, West Hampstead and Primrose Hill
- 53 outer-area pages: service-by-town pages for Bushey (13), Brentwood (12), Borehamwood (11) and St Albans (9), plus Edgware, Harrow, Pinner, Northwood, Hemel Hempstead and Southgate
- Linked from the main Locations menu and from “Areas we also cover” on neighbouring area pages

A 50-guide resource library
Homeowners research before they call. We built a library of 50 practical guides that answer the questions they actually type, each ending with a free-quote call to action.
The new roof cost guide, for example, gives realistic 2026 London prices: £7,500–£13,000 for a concrete tile roof and £11,000–£18,000 for natural slate on a typical three-bedroom home.
- Cost guides: new roof, flat roof replacement, scaffolding, ridge tiles, lead flashing, Velux replacement, roof surveys
- Problem guides: water through the ceiling, roof leaking in heavy rain, flat roof ponding, chimney flashing leaks
- Trust guides: how to find a good roofer, questions to ask, cowboy roofer warning signs, roofing guarantees explained
- Material guides: slate vs concrete tiles, GRP vs EPDM, warm roof vs cold roof, cast iron vs uPVC guttering
Designed for the homeowner on a ladder, in the rain, on their phone
Most emergency roofing enquiries happen on mobile, so every layout was designed for small screens first.

Thumb-sized buttons
Full-width “Get a Free Quote” and “Call” buttons that are easy to tap with one hand.

A floating “Chat with us” button on every page for customers who would rather send a photo than call.

A mobile layout shift of just 0.002, so buttons never jump while the page loads.
Never more than one tap from an enquiry

From a handful of pages to 148 URLs
Foundations and first area pages
Launched the North London contractor page and the first local pages: Camden, Borehamwood, Edgware, Harrow, Hemel Hempstead, Northwood and Brentwood.
Outer-London expansion
Rolled out 34 pages, including full service-by-town clusters for Bushey, St Albans, Brentwood and Borehamwood, covering roof repair, flat roofs, chimneys, guttering, skylights and new roofs in each town.
Specialist pages and articles
Added repointing and postcode pages, plus blog articles on emergency roof repair costs, chimney repair costs, roofing hips and roofing felt.
Full redesign and rebuild
Rebuilt 88 pages on the new design system: the homepage, all 10 service pages, all 13 North London area pages and the 50-guide resource library.
Dates are taken from each page’s last-modified date in the XML sitemaps.
A website that grows the business, not just a brochure
With the new page structure live, our ongoing SEO work for Victoria Roofing had a solid base to build on. Between October 2025 and September 2026:
Third-party estimates from Ubersuggest for Google UK. They show the trend; the client’s own analytics may show different totals. Full details in our Victoria Roofing SEO case study.
What this project shows for trade websites
1. Templates make scale possible
Three solid templates (service, location and guide) let us launch 148 consistent URLs without the quality dropping.
2. Show trust on the first screen
Years in business, review count and a guarantee belong above the fold, not on an About page.
3. Honest prices sell
Publishing real price bands answers the first question every homeowner has, and builds trust before the first call.
4. Design for the emergency
One-tap calling, WhatsApp and a stable mobile layout matter most when someone’s roof is leaking.
Making a strong site even faster
Mobile speed
Removing about 224 KB of unused CSS and an unnecessary redirect to bring mobile LCP under 2.5 seconds.
Next-gen images
Converting the remaining images to WebP and lazy-loading everything below the fold.
Live reviews
Adding a live Google reviews feed so the 338 reviews appear as real customer quotes.
Project gallery
Before-and-after photos of real London jobs on every service page.
