Restaurant automation

Restaurant Automation and QR Ordering Systems for UK Restaurants

Let guests scan a QR code, browse your menu and order from the table, while orders go straight to the kitchen and counter. We set up restaurant automation for restaurants, cafés, takeaways and pubs across the UK and worldwide, built around your menu, your layout and the way your team works.

What is restaurant automation?

Restaurant automation means using simple software to handle the routine parts of service: showing the menu, taking orders, passing them to the kitchen and keeping guests updated. Your staff stay in charge of the welcome, the food and the problems only people can solve.

The most common starting point is a QR ordering system. Each table has a QR code. A guest scans it with their phone, sees your menu with prices and allergen information, and places an order. The order appears instantly for your kitchen or counter staff, with the table number attached, so nothing is misheard or forgotten on a busy night.

What we set up

Our restaurant automation services

QR code menus

A clear, mobile-friendly digital menu with photos, prices, dietary labels and allergen information. Change a dish or mark it as sold out without reprinting.

Table ordering

Guests order from their table by scanning the QR code. Each order carries the table number, so food and drinks reach the right people.

Online and collection orders

Take collection and takeaway orders through your own website instead of relying only on phone calls.

Kitchen and counter alerts

New orders appear straight away for the kitchen or bar, so staff are not running paper slips between the floor and the pass.

Loyalty and repeat visits

Invite guests to join a digital stamp card from the same visit and give your regulars a reason to come back.

Reviews and feedback

Ask every guest for honest feedback and Google reviews in a way that follows Google’s rules and UK law.

Benefits

What QR ordering changes in a busy restaurant

  • Fewer order mistakes: guests choose exactly what they want, including options and notes, and the kitchen sees it in writing.
  • Faster service at peak times: guests do not wait to catch someone’s eye to order a second round or a dessert.
  • Staff time back: your team spends less time walking orders around and more time looking after guests.
  • A menu that is always up to date: change prices, add specials or hide sold-out dishes in minutes.
  • Better information: see which dishes sell, at what times, so you can plan stock and staffing.

QR ordering does not suit every venue or every guest. Many restaurants keep printed menus and table service available alongside it, especially for guests who prefer not to use their phone. We help you decide what fits your style of service.

Allergens

Allergen information on a digital menu

Moving your menu online does not change your duty to give customers allergen information. UK government guidance says that for food ordered online or by phone, allergen information must be available before the order is completed and again when the food is delivered. For guests ordering at the table, they still need a clear, easy way to find out about allergens.

When we set up your digital menu, we:

  • show the 14 major allergens and dietary labels against each dish, using the information you supply;
  • add a clear message asking guests with allergies to speak to a member of staff;
  • make sure allergen details can be included for collection and delivery orders.

You remain responsible for the accuracy of your allergen information, so it is worth reviewing every time a recipe or supplier changes. Read the allergen guidance for food businesses on GOV.UK. If you trade in other countries, local rules differ, and we check them with you. This is general information, not legal advice.

Who it is for

Is restaurant automation right for your venue?

QR ordering and automation work well for independent restaurants, cafés, takeaways, pubs that serve food and small groups. They are most useful when your team is stretched at busy times, or when phone orders and paper slips are causing mistakes.

  • You are short-staffed at peak times
  • Orders get misheard, lost or sent to the wrong table
  • You reprint menus every time a price or dish changes
  • Most collection orders still come in by phone
  • You want regulars to come back more often

FAQs

Restaurant automation questions answered

Do customers need to download an app to order?

No. Customers scan the QR code with their phone camera and the menu opens on their phone, so there is nothing to install.

Can I change the menu and prices myself?

Yes. We set it up so you can update dishes, prices and availability, such as marking a dish as sold out. If you prefer, we can make changes for you.

Will it work with my till or POS system?

It depends on your till. Some systems can be connected and others cannot. We check what you use during the free consultation and explain the options before you commit.

Does QR ordering replace my staff?

No. It takes routine order-taking off your team so they can spend more time looking after guests. Most venues keep table service available for guests who prefer it.

How much does a restaurant ordering system cost?

It depends on the number of tables and sites, the features you need and any connections to your existing tools. We give you a clear quote after a free consultation, before any work begins. See how we price projects.

What about allergen information?

Allergen information must still be available to every guest. We show allergens against each dish using the information you provide, and add a message asking guests with allergies to speak to staff. You remain responsible for keeping it accurate.
