Online Shops, Local SEO and Marketing for Retail and Clothing Businesses

Sell online, bring more people through the door and keep customers coming back. We build online shops, improve your visibility on Google, set up loyalty cards and run social media and email marketing for independent retail and clothing businesses across the UK and worldwide.

How do shoppers find independent shops today?

Shoppers move between online and in-store all the time. Many search Google for a product or a shop nearby, browse a website or Instagram to see what you stock, then buy online, reserve for collection or visit in person.

An independent shop needs to show up in those searches, make browsing easy on a phone, and give customers a reason to come back rather than defaulting to a large online retailer.

Common problems

Problems we help retailers solve

No online shop, or one that does not sell

A slow or confusing shop loses sales. We build e-commerce sites that are quick to browse and simple to check out on a phone.

Not found for local searches

Shoppers searching for what you sell nearby see other shops. Local SEO and a complete Google Business Profile help.

Products missing from Google

Your products can appear in Google’s free product listings through Google Merchant Center, alongside paid Shopping ads if you want them.

One-off customers

A digital loyalty card and opt-in offers give shoppers a reason to choose you again.

Social media takes too long

We plan and design posts and campaigns that show new stock and drive visits and sales.

Not enough reviews

Review cards at the till make it easy for every customer to leave an honest review.

What works

What works for independent retailers online

  1. Great product pages. Clear photos, honest descriptions, sizes and fit information, stock levels and delivery costs shown before checkout.
  2. Fast mobile checkout. Most browsing happens on phones, so checkout should take a minute and offer common payment methods.
  3. Click and collect. Letting local customers reserve online and collect in store brings people through the door.
  4. Google product listings. Uploading your products to Google Merchant Center lets them appear in Google’s shopping results, with free listings available as well as paid ads.
  5. Repeat business. Loyalty cards, new-stock emails to subscribers and good service build the regulars that independents depend on.

Rules

Rules to cover when you sell online in the UK

  • Cancellation rights: under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, consumers who buy online generally have 14 days to cancel, with some exceptions such as personalised items. Your shop needs clear returns and cancellation information.
  • Clear pricing: show the total price, including delivery charges, before the customer commits to buy.
  • Privacy and cookies: you need a privacy notice, and non-essential cookies such as advertising cookies need consent.
  • Marketing emails: need consent or the soft opt-in for existing customers, with an easy opt-out.

If you trade in other countries, local rules differ, and we check them with you. This is general information, not legal advice.

FAQs

Retail and online shop questions answered

Which platform should I use for my online shop?

It depends on your products, budget and how much you want to manage yourself. WordPress with WooCommerce and hosted platforms such as Shopify are both common choices. We recommend the one that fits your business.

Can my products appear on Google Shopping for free?

Yes. Google offers free product listings for shops that upload their products through Google Merchant Center and meet its policies. Paid Shopping ads are optional.

Can customers order online and collect in store?

Yes. We can set up click and collect so local customers reserve or buy online and pick up from your shop.

Do I need returns information on my website?

Yes. Online shoppers usually have a legal right to cancel within 14 days, with some exceptions, so your website should explain returns, cancellations and refunds clearly.

How much does an online shop cost?

It depends on the number of products, features and the platform. We give you a clear quote after a free consultation. See how we price projects.
